A method was established for determining the content of cis- and trans-reseratrol and their piceid by thin layer chromatography (TLC)-fluorescence scanning. Resveratrol and piceid were extracted from wine samples by solid phase extraction with C-18 cartridge. The separation was accomplished on polyamide plate by development using the mobile phase benzene-methanol-methanic acid (10: 5: 1). The contents of resvertrol and piceid were determined by TLC -fluorescence scanning. The calibration curves of four components showed good linearity in the range of 2.0 similar to 27.7 ng. The recoveries were 97.1% similar to 98.5% with RSD 2.0% similar to 3.2%. The result shows that the method has the advantages of simple operation, rapid, sensitive and low cost and has been used for the determination of resveratrol and piceid in commercial 6 wine samples with satisfactory result. In addition, the TLC qualitative analysis for the four components can be served in quickly distingnishing of nature and false wines.
