摘要
We solve the linear resisted projectile motion problem using the Lambert W function. In the problem, the launching point is higher than the landing point. The explicit solutions for the range and optimal angle of elevation are expressed in terms of the Lambert W function. The two conclusions can be made for the same projectile: (i) The higher the launching point, the larger the range is. (ii) The higher the launching point, the smaller the optimal angle is.
