Al2Cu/alpha-Al composite coating prepared by plasma surface metallurgy

摘要

The Al2Cu/alpha-Al composite coating having good metallurgical bonding with matrix material was successfully prepared on the surface of Al with Cu powders by plasma surface metallurgy. Microstructures of the coating are quickly freezing structures: coarse dendrite and cellular structure grows up against heat flow at the bottom of the coating while fine dendrite and equiaxed crystal uniformly distribute in the upper area. The coating has higher microhardness of 260 HV than the surface hardness (74.5 HV) of Al.
