摘要

This paper reviews the potentials of organic agriculture as means of enhancing sustainable development with a view of identifying the potentials of this innovation. Some of the potentials are soil fertility and system stability, ecosystem service, food safety and quality, mitigating climate change, ecological health, value addition, market niche, return on investment and consumer preferences. The paper recommends that extension agencies and policy makers should ensure adequate dissemination and advocacy for the adoption of organic agricultural practices in Africa.
