A new heterometallic Cd(II)-Na(I) coordination polymer: Synthesis, crystal structure and photoluminescent property

A new heterometallic compound, namely [CdNa(btc)(mu(2)-H2O)(H2O)](n) (1 H(3)btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid), was synthesized via the solvothermal reactions of Cd(NO3)(2)center dot 4H(2)O, NaHCO3 and H(3)btc and further characterized by the elemental analysis, IR, powder X-ray diffraction analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The title complex crystallized in the monoclinic P2(1)/c space group with a = 9.7056(4), b = 16.9780(6), c = 6.5046(3) angstrom, beta = 103.658(5)degrees, V = 1041.53(7) angstrom(3) . This compound features a three-dimensional (3D) framework based on heterometallic 1D inorganic chains. The luminescent property of 1 has also been investigated.
