摘要

With the rapid development of computer technology and the advance of numerical simulation technology, it has become a hot research topic to apply the latest research results of hydrodynamics into second generation intact stability of vulnerability criteria which has caused widespread concern in the field of ship design. However, riding and transversely swinging wave is one of the main factors leading to ship capsizing in following waves or quartering seas, and has a direct impact on the safety of navigation. First, the mechanism of surf-riding and broaching and the key problems in the research are summarized, and then the vulnerability criteria on surf-riding and broaching are analyzed and evaluated. Finally, the research progress of riding and broaching at home and abroad is viewed. The research results will provide useful reference for the development of the second generation ship intact stability.
