The title compound [systematic name: methyl 2-amino-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-oxo-4H,5H-pyrano[3,2-c]chromene-3-carboxylate N,N-dimethylformamide solvate], C20H14ClNO5.C3H7NO, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-hydroxycoumarin and methyl 4'-chloro-2-cyanocinnamate catalyzed by KF-montmorillonite. There are N-H...O hydrogen bonds and C-H...O interactions in the crystal structure.
