摘要

Garnet is one of the important minerals in the metamorphic rocks, can well preserved the major and trace element zonings and mineral or fluid inclusions formed during different metamorphic processes. It provides significant information to trace metamorphic evolution of hosted rocks. Base on carefully checking composition assemblages of inclusions, geochemistry feature of major and trace element of garnets in high grade metamorphic rocks from the Yardoi gneiss dome, we observed at least five generations of garnet growth. Garnet-I is magmatic origin and derived from source rock. Garnet-II,, IV are metamorphic origin, however, the minerals assemblages and temperature -pressure condition during three periods of metamorphism are different. Garnet-V is peritectic origin and formed during dehydration of biotite occurred in the thickened crustal conditions in the Himalaya time. The evolution process of garnets in the Himalayan high grade metamorphic rocks are complicated; therefore, we need to carefully check the origins of garnets when discussing the metamorphic processes of hosted rocks.
