摘要
A combination of pi-pi stacking and electrostatic interactions was used to integrate an anionic porphyrin (H(2)p(2-)) with carbon nanohorns (CNEs), mediated by positively charged pyrene (pyr(+)) units. The resulting water-soluble CNHs-pyr(+)-H(2)p(2-) nanoensemble was characterized by optical spectroscopy and electron microscopy techniques. The strong fluorescence emission of H(2)p(2-) was significantly quenched by CNHs, suggesting effective energy and electron transfer between the photo-excited porphyrin and the extended pi-electronic network of nanohorns. Blank experiments validated the supramolecular concept of synergistic electrostatic interactions and signified the importance of CNEs as electron acceptors towards the preparation of some novel donor-acceptor nanosystems.
