A rapid and efficient synthesis of 3,5-diaryl-2,6-dicyanoanilines by cyclocondensation of arylidene-malonodinitriles with 1-arylethylidenemalonodinitriles in the presence of KF/alumina as catalyst under solvent-free neat conditions using microwaves as an energy source is described.
