An Algorithm Based on Layered Slice for Surface Projection Profile Path of Hot Cutting

摘要

During the cuffing process of fabricating EPS architecture model, there exists interference between hot wire and outline surface. For the purpose of obtaining model's projection profile path, an algorithm based on layered slices is provided. The study mainly consists of the following steps: First, cross section contour data was obtained through establishing a group matrix and local topological relationships between each slice group; Then, the algorithm gets the projection profile of each angle by judging intersection points and summing the outlines; Finally, processed G code of the projection profile path is outputted in text format. The paper introduces the algorithm of grouping matrix and seeking intersection within outlines in detail. The result of hot cutting experiment shows that this algorithm is accurately and efficiently used to work out the surface outline data. Apart from that, a 3D model is fabricated by this algorithm with a set of five-axis NC hot cutter. The experiments suggest that the precision of EPS model depends on the thickness of layered slices and the number of projected sections.
