摘要

A common piezoelectric power harvester consists of a piezoelectric patch on a cantilever beam with a tip mass at the end of the beam. The tip proof mass is essential to tune the harvester resonances towards an optimal operational frequency for energy harvesting. In this paper, a new experimental method is proposed; instead of using the tip mass, we use one or more jointed thin beams attached to the end of the cantilever beam. By adjusting the rotation angle of the joined beams, the resonance frequency of the energy harvester can be effectively tuned. This method allowed us to achieve more accurate and efficient frequency adjustments than the traditional tip mass method. The comparison between the two methods has been made. The effect of the one and two jointed beams is studied here by rotating angles of the joined beams.
