Nanosilver-DNA Hybrid Modified Electrode for Electrochemical Sensing of Buspirone in Biological Samples and Pharmaceutical Preparation

A novel, sensitive and simple method has been presented to make a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)-templated silver nanoparticles sensor for determination of buspirone in this paper. The Ag nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of glassy carbon electrode by electrochemical method in presence of DNA as a scaffold. The presence of DNA makes scaffold to arrange and order the nano-structures therefore it inhibits more aggregation of silver nanoparticles and makes better catalytic ability of them and as a result better sensitivity for detection of buspirone can be obtained. The size and dimension of nanoparticles depend on DNA concentration, deposition solution concentration (silver solution) and deposition time, so all of these parameters have been optimized. In the optimized condition, biosensor showed a response in linear range of 2.0-70.0 nM and a detection limit of 1.1 nM. The as-prepared biosensor also showed effective anti-interference capability from ascorbic acid, acetaminophen, uric acid and ranitidine in good accuracy and repeatability. The obtained results were satisfactory with excellent percentage recovery.
