摘要

This work compares the results of residual stresses both simulation by FEM and experimental testing for different metallic materials by surface enhancement processes. These processes include shot peening (SP), hole cold expansion (HCE) and laser shock peening (LSP), which are widely employed in aeronautical engineering. The simulation can give more details for effects of processes' parameters and residual stresses change with time during processes. The simulation results were verified by residual stress testing with X-ray diffraction methods. Recently, we compared the fretting fatigue performance of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy and therefore we mainly describe the residual stresses induced by LSP and shot peening SP in the following.
