A COMPACT TAPERED SLOT ANTENNA FOR ULTRAWIDEBAND APPLICATIONS

摘要

An elliptically tapered slot antenna fed by a tapered microstrip line ended with a sector-shaped tuning stub for ultrawideband operations is presented. The antenna is printed on a circuit board with a low relative dielectric constant of 2.65. A T-shaped shorting strip is used to improve directional radiation performance. The antenna achieves a measured impedance bandwidth from 3.25 to 12 GHz with the gain in the end-fire direction up to 5.5 dB and a compact size of 27 x 40 x 0.5 mm(3).
