摘要

In state of the art optical flow methods, over-smoothing of motion boundaries accounts for most of the error. A new optical flow estimation is proposed in this paper, which addresses some issues including the credible estimation of optical flow and the preservation of flow boundaries. The significance of this work is twofold. First, we compute the optical flow by a nonlinear diffusion process instead of an energy minimization process, which often need the corresponding regularizer to be restricted to some forms of convex and differentiable entity; Second, we use a coherence vector enhancing scheme to complete the diffusion job, which can help to preserve motion boundaries in an efficient way. Qualitative and quantitative results show that the new method can produce a more accurate and robust result.
