摘要

Two-color holography was performed in a phase conjugation scheme in the 4-dibuthylamino-4'nitrostilbene dye embedded in a polystyrene matrix as well as in an industrial red plastic used for applications in optics. The now classical experiment consists in printing a quasi-permanent second-order nonlinear optical susceptibility x((2)) in a material through the coherent interference of two light beams at omega and 2 omega frequencies. The induced nonlinearity in the stilbene-dye doped polymer is attributed to the angular hole burning effect due to the weakly reversible trans-cis photoisomerization. Second harmonic is also induced in the red plastic.
