摘要

This paper presents an algorithm of direction profile edge detection based on linear lifting scheme wavelet. A set of lifting wavelet predictive function was built up, and a linear update function was deduced. The image wavelet decomposition was realized after a series of operations such as 'splitting', 'predicting' and 'updating'. Then the gradient map and direction map were obtained with the decomposed wavelet coefficient. According to the principle of direction profile detection, the images edges were extracted based on the gradient map and direction map. Finally, tracking and accurate localization for edges were realized with the direction map. This algorithm proves to be more efficient for linear target detection because the direction map is more sensitive to linear characteristics.
