Agave kavandivi from the Mixteca Alta region, state of Oaxaca, Mexico is described as new and illustrated. It belongs to subgenus Littaea (Tagliabue) Baker, group Striatae Baker. It is compared with A. dasylirioides Jacobi et C. D.Bouche, A. stricta. Salm-Dyck and A. rzedowskiana P. Carrillo, R. Vega et R. Delgad.
