Numerical analysis of contra-rotating propellers'unsteady hydrodynamic performance

摘要

The panel method based on velocity potential was used to predict the contra-rotating propellers'unsteady hydrodynamic performance, and the interference between the contra-rotating propellers was treated by the method of circumferential averaging. Firstly, the method was verified by comparing the steady calculated results with the reference results. Then, the unsteady hydrodynamic performances of the contra-rotating propellers were analyzed, and compared with the experimental and literature values. The results shows that the steady values are very close to the literature values, but the unsteady values are more accurate than the constant values after adding the flow field. The unsteady forces and torque of the contra-rotating propellers in different directions are predicted, and the feasibility of the current method to predict the contra-rotating propellers'unsteady hydrodynamic performance is discussed, which shows that current method provides a good way for further research on the unsteady performance of the contra-rotating propeller.
