摘要
In the title complex, [PtI2(C12H8N2)],the Pt2 ion is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of the chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two iodide ions. The nearly planar molecules, with a maximum deviation of 0.170 (3) angstrom from the least-squares plane, are stacked in columns along the c axis with a Pt center dot center dot center dot Pt distance of 4.8510 (6) angstrom. In the column, pi-pi interactions between adjacent six-membered rings are present, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 3.703 (5) angstrom.
