In the title compound, [Ni(C14H16N2)(2)(H2O)(2)]Cl-2 center dot 2[NiCl2(C12H8N2)(2)], the dication, whose Ni atom is chelated by a chiral ligand, lies about a pseudo-inversion site. The dication uses its coordinated water molecules to form hydrogen bonds to the chloride counterion as well as to a coordinated Cl atom of the neutral complex. The three Ni atoms exist in octahedral geometries.
