摘要
Microstructural evolution of an Fe-22 pct Mn-0.4 pct C twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steel during high strain rate deformation has been investigated. When subjected to low strain rate deformation, the steel shows the typical TWIP phenomenon. On the other hand, when subjected to high strain rate deformation, there is a formation of nanostructured austenite, due to the occurrence of deformation twinning forming nanoscale twin/matrix lamellae followed by dynamic recovery induced by adiabatic heating during high strain rate deformation.
