A New Luminescent Cd(II) Coordination Polymer Constructed from 1,3,5-Benzenetricarboxylic Acid and bis(imidazole)-Based Ligand

A new luminescent Cd(II) coordination polymer, namely [Cd-3(btc)(2)(bix)(2))](n)center dot 2nH(2)O (1 H(3)btc = 1, 3, 5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, bix = 4,4 '-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene), has been successfully synthesized and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that 1 is a three-dimensional (3D) complicated framework and can be simplified into a (4, 5, 5)-connected topological network based on three unequivalent nodes. In addition, the luminescent property of this compound was also investigated in the solid state at room temperature.
