摘要

Evaluation of the environmental impacts of shore protection facilities is the basis of protecting coastal environment and ensuring sustainable coastal development. In this study, to estimate the influences of coastal defense structures, such as breakwaters and headlines, on the physical and habitat environment at Toban coast of Japan, field surveys on the habitat environment and inhabitation of coastal life and plants were firstly carried out both in nearshore waters and on land; then the representative species for evaluation were selected on the basis of accumulated field surveying data and basic knowledge of coastal ecosystem; considering the bionomics and inhabitation characteristics of coastal life and plants, the dominant environment impact factors and suitability index models for the selected representative species were examined; finally, the habitat suitability for clams in areas around breakwaters and headland at Toban coast was evaluated by using an integrated coastal environment impact evaluation model that combines coastal hydrodynamic models and HEP technique. Comparisons between the simulated results and measured data indicate that the model can give reasonable habitat impact assessment.
