摘要

Carbon aerogel sheets with controllable thickness, density and microstructure exhibited many remarkable properties and promising applications in many aspects, which were different from carbon aerogel bulks. To investigate the discrepancy, a serious of carbon aerogel sheets and bulks were prepared. The detailed fabrication method consisted of four main steps. The organic Resorcinol-formaldehyde (RF) aerogel sheets were synthesized in an airtight micro-mold; Then the hydrogel were rinsed in ethanol for three times, each time for one day to sufficiently substitute the residual water; RF aerogel sheets with little cracking or noticeable shrinkage were obtained after the followed subcritical drying at ambient pressure; A quartz mold and a four-step pyrolysis process were used in pyrolysis process to prevent the sheets from curling. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to analysis the composition of CRF aerogel sheets and bulk. The morphology and microstructure were investigated by a field emission scanning microscope (FESEM). The pure carbonized Resorcinol-formaldehyde (CRF) aerogel sheets with the thickness 25-680 mu m, the density 465-1679 mg.cm(-3), considerable geometric dimensions (22 mm x 16 mm x 0.68 mm), and CRF aerogel bulks were obtained. Carbon aerogel sheets and bulks were compared both in density and microstructure. The dense layer covering on the surface of CRF aerogel sheet was observed and analyzed briefly.
