In this letter, we propose an improved Hammerstein predistorter for linearization of a power amplifier with memory effects. In the proposed predistorter, which is different from conventional predistorters, the emphasis of nonlinear compensation is on the region with serious nonlinear distortion based on non-uniform quantization. Moreover, in the proposed predistorter, the compensation for the nonlinear and memory effects of a power amplifier depend on the relationship of the current and history inputs, not simply depend the current input as doing in other predistorters. The experimental results show that the proposed predistorter can efficiently compensate the nonlinear distortion of a power amplifier with memory effects.
