摘要

Traditional auditory and visual hospital alarm systems are designed to improve patient safety, but some side effects from noise problems has been reported. Hospital alarm systems must be designed based on the patientcentric perspective. A quiet response and proper reaction management with the consent of staff to alarms on emergency situations in a general hospital are important. The proposed real-time alarm control system can treat real-time emergency alarm messages between servers and mobile clients based on agreement from the staff who are in charge of the emergency situation. The proposed system accepts multiple communication methods: one-way multicasting and two-way communications. Especially in the general hospital environment, in order to avoid patient anxiety over alarms, the system informs silently the emergency situation to the persons who have to respond to a situation by using a low-energy one-way multicasting method on smart hand-held devices. During the response period, after consent from the staff, two-way calm communications to manage additional alarms are used with indoor positioning methods for tracking and controlling the response activities. All of the response activities for the situation are recorded for various future purposes.
