摘要

Soliton-like nonlinear SPPs have shown to posses intensity dependent propagation characteristics. Two different dispersion relations with arbitrary parameters being input field intensity and position of soliton-like peak were derived and coupled using self-consistent calculations to avoid arbitrary parameters in order to study exact propagation characteristics of nonlinear SPP supported by a linear-metal/nonlinear slab waveguide. It is observed that the position of soliton-like peak in nonlinear medium has significant contribution in determining dispersion characteristics of nonlinear SPP. The propagation properties and mode profiles of nonlinear SPP obtained could help in exploring further possibilities of exciting and guiding SPP efficiently in nanoscale waveguides using nonlinear substrate.
