摘要

This letter introduces a novel slot antenna with both low radar cross section (RCS) and high gain characteristic. The antenna is fabricated on a thin metasurface and fed by the rear using a C-band standard waveguide. The metasurface is composed of rectangular patch artificial magnetic conductor (RPAMC) to provide reflection energy cancellation and enlarge effective aperture simultaneously. Measured results indicate that the RCS at bore-sight reduces more than 6 dB in broadband, while the novel antenna gets 2 dB gain improvement compared to that of a reference antenna with same-size metallic ground. Consequently, the confliction between radiation and scattering performance of slot antenna is well resolved.
