A new nine-tin-nuclear mixed mono- and diphenyltin(IV) cage-like macrocycle: Synthesis and crystal structure characterization

The self-assembly reaction of phenyl phosphoric acid, sodium ethoxide and diphenyltin dichloride in the ethanol affords a new cage-like macrocycle complex 1, which is a highly centrosymmetric nine-tin nuclear cage containing one water molecule. The X-ray crystal structure shows that the metal ions display a octahedron geometry to bind the oxygen atom. The water molecule exists in the center of the cage.
