In the paper a new approach is suggested for investigation the structure of a simplex which elements are endomorphisms of a finite chain. The blocks of considered partition are classes of a given equivalence relation and each of them has a semiring structure. It is shown that endomorphisms of a chosen type (idempotents, nilpotent elements) from the so-called coordinate semiring generate a subsemiring of the simplex consisting of elements of a similar type. In a natural way we construct left ideals and ideals of the simplex. A by-product of the paper is to provide new insight on semirings, generated by neighbouring idempotents.
