摘要

The relationship between grain size of total suspended solids and particulate organic carbon content is the base of studying particulate organic carbon (POC) in fresh-salt water in estuary. The POC content in size-fractioned total suspended solids in Huanghe estuary were studied by multiple linear regression. The problem resulted by conventional methods can be conquered the method. The results indicated that the weight percentage of particulate organic carbon is decreased remarkably with the increasing of the grain size of TSS. More than 80% of POC were concentrated in the fine particles (< 16 mu m) while over 95% of POC were concentrated in particles of size <32 mu m.
