摘要

In this paper, a fast algorithm has been developed for the prediction of scattered sound fields from two uniform pistons intersecting at small angles. Based on the Khokhlov-Zabolotskaya nonlinear parabolic wave equation, the multidimensional integral expressions for the scattered sound fields from pistons are simplified to one-dimensional integrals using the Gaussian-beam expansion technique and, as a result the computation loading is significantly reduced. The proposed algorithm is verified by its agreement with earlier literature. Furthermore, the effect of source separation on the generated sound fields is investigated while taking sound absorption into account in our analysis. It is found that a localized sound can be produced as two sources separate at a specific distance. [DOI: 10.1143/JJAP.47.4253]
