An Optical-Driven Quantum Shuttle: Modeling, Dynamics and Controllability

In this paper, we investigate dynamic properties and controllability of a cavity optomechanical system mechanically connected to a single-electron quantum shuttle, which includes three coupled modes, i.e., optical, mechanical, and electrical modes. Based on quantum description and quantum Langevin framework, the dynamics of these three modes under conditions of weak and strong optical driving are investigated via comprehensive bifurcation analysis. In the weak-driving regime, there is a transition point, where the amplitudes of mechanical and optical modes abruptly jump and the electrical mode decays to a static state. In the strong-driving regime, the three modes exhibit more complicated dynamics, where transitions of period 1-period 2 and periodic-chaotic state are observed. However, the electrical mode shows a different dynamical behavior. Finally, current analysis of the quantum shuttle is presented and discussed. The optical-driven quantum shuttle can be realized in experiments and has potential to serve as a new paradigm for exploring photon-based quantum information processing/transacting and quantum sensing.
