摘要
Telogen hairs have generally presented significant challenges to routine and advanced forensic nDNA typing techniques. Nuclear specific DAPI fluorescence staining of telogen hair roots introduced a method of determining the number of nuclei still present in the hair root. However, a simple fixation step has increased the yield of complete nDNA profiles over the unfixed telogen root and the introduction of Harris' Haematoxylin nuclear specific staining makes this technique readily available to all forensic biology laboratories.
