摘要
Appetite control is determined by an interaction between physiological mechanisms (in the brain and in the periphery) and the sensory and nutritional properties of foods selected for consumption. This interaction forms the basis of the appetite control system which influences the strength of satiation and satiety -2 processes that together determine the size and frequency of eating episodes, and the overall amount eaten. An understanding of this system, is therefore crucial for preventing overconsumption and for the development of functional foods for appetite control.
