摘要

In this article we present an attempt to explain some irregularities which were recorded while synthesizing particular oxide ceramics at moderate temperatures in wet media. Elements of the Lattice Compatibility Theory LCT framework are presented as backgrounds for understanding why some ceramics, like alumina, silica, aluminum nitrides, carbides, silicate, and sulfides could be precipitation-strengthened or crystallized by epitaxial growth on heterogeneous wet substrates while others, like Zn-S-O-type ceramics, never precipitated under same conditions. Particular focus and attention have been turned to lattice-scale considerations.
