摘要

A phase conjugate mirror (PCM) is added to an external-cavity vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) to build a double coupling-cavity model. The injection of phase conjugate feedback (PCF) is used to control the nonlinear dynamics of external-cavity VCSEL, and it is compared with the case of using common optical feedback. PCM, which is different form common mirror, is insensitive to the change of position in wavelength, and PCF can extend the stable range. Taking the bifurcation diagram when external cavity feedback rate between 5-7 ns-1 for example, it was found that some unstable states such as multi-period and chaos could be restrained, and the output of VCSEL was kept at single period or double period state. Using the combination of PCF and external cavity feedback, single period or double period state at higher frequency could be achieved, and the dynamics of VCSEL could be controlled easier.
