摘要

A hydrothermal route has been adopted to prepare metastable wurtzite-type (gamma) manganese sulfide (MnS) crystallites via the reaction of manganese acetate (Mn(CH3COO)(2)) and thioacetamide in water at 60-130 degreesC. Experiments show that the control of reaction temperature and time is important to the target phase. It is suggested that kinetics plays a predominant role in the formation of gamma-MnS under the hydrothermal conditions.
