Unprecedented interweaving of single-helical chains into a chiral metal-organic framework based on a flexible ligand

摘要

An unprecedented chiral metal-organic framework has been constructed based on diethyl 2,2'-(1H, 1'H- 2,2'-biimidazole-1,1'-diyl) diacetate ligand, in which the original chirality derives from the configurational effect of a flexible ligand and transfers to the whole network through interweaving three kinds of single-helical chains. Moreover, it possesses a novel four-connected (3(2).7(2).8(2))(3.4.7(3).8)(2) topology. In addition, compound 1 also exhibits strong blue photoluminescence in the solid state at room temperature.
