The progress of research on chiral derivatives from D-glucose used in asymmetric reactions was rapid. This paper reviews recent advances in application of D-glucose derivatives as catalysts to asymmetric, phase transfer Michael addition, alkene asymmetric hydrosilylation and catalyst ligands to asymmetric epoxidation, asymmetric cyanosilylation, asymmetric Reformatsky and other asymmetric reactions.
