摘要

Error control is an interesting problem for wireless video delivery. There is a big gap between the previous wireless channel model and the error control technique for wireless video transmission. This paper presents an event-trigger Bit error rate (BER) model from a special angle. In this model, some simple feedback messages are utilized to track the variance of wireless channel BER during the transmission process, according to which the optimal redundancy for error control is known at every time interval. Based on the model, a general adaptive error control mechanism for wireless video service is proposed to globally optimize the throughput with the equal error protection. In addition, a recurrent neural network is employed to decide the state transfer as a mechanism. The simulation results obtained using the proposed error res silient scheme shows a significantly improved visual performance and transmission efficiency especially for the transmitted video over a dramatic time-varying wireless channel conditions.
