摘要
Electrode and membrane electrolyte are the two most critical components which determine the cost and performance of a fuel cell. A direct borohydride fuel cell (DBFC) is a promising low temperature fuel cell which achieves high power performance with cost-effective materials. This study reports a DBFC in which a glutaraldehyde cross-linked chitosan membrane was used as electrolyte, and a thin film electrode prepared by electron beam physical vapor deposition was used as anode. This DBFC achieved a peak power density of similar to 429 mW cm(-2) at 60 degrees C. The stability and efficiency of this fuel cell was also examined.
