摘要

The probabilistic power flow methodology deals with the uncertainties in power systems. Compared to the traditional deterministic power flow, this approach provides the overall spectrum of all probable values of the desired output variables. In this paper, the methods based on the properties of cumulants of random variables are considered. An in-depth analysis of such cumulant-based probabilistic power flow calculations is presented. A comparison of their features is given in detail through both a theoretical analysis and some case studies. Results on IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 300-bus Test Systems are presented and compared taking as benchmark the results obtained by the Monte Carlo methodology. Moreover, suitable suggestions to the exploit their features in the different power system applications are given. Further researches on these methods are also being developed to increase the accuracy and the computational efficiency.
