摘要

The flawed nature of the current pricing mechanism is viewed as an impediment to the development of innovative technologies, including the production of nanomaterials. The use of traditional pricing methods is not always effective in this sphere, since these methods do not fully account for the specifics of the production process, the character of the demand, or the features of the market. The authors believe that the pricing of innovative products by the current methodology - which is based on hypotheses related to supply and demand - should be done with allowance for specific features of the high-tech market, including the fact that it is largely oligopolistic, capital- and science-intensive, and characterized by long investment recovery periods. As an example, the authors examine the prices for multi-walled nanotubes made by American and Russian manufacturers, aspects of accounting for the equipment used to make nanotubes, and the depreciation of that equipment.
