摘要

Recently, with the advent and popularity of digitization and the Internet, information accessing has become a very important problem. Among that, secret communication will surely be one of the pivotal problems of future war of information. Considering this problem, a multipurpose watermarking algorithm used for secret communication is proposed in this paper. As a kind of data hiding technique, digital watermarking has aroused recognition of many countries. In this paper, we realize the secret communication scheme through embedding two watermarks into the carrier simultaneously. The digital images are selected to be the carrier and watermarks here. By using the Dither modulation (DM) method, the secret watermark, which is generated from the secret information (need to be transmitted), is embedded into one digital gray-level image. It is robust. At the same time, in order to verify the reality and integrality of the secret information, the other watermark named authentication watermark is embedded into the same image based on address code techniques. It is semi-fragile. Both the watermarks are invisible. The watermarking algorithm is based on Discrete cosine transform (DCT) domain and one perceptual model is adopted to improve the transparency of the watermarked image. The watermark detection process is blind. Based on this algorithm, a secret communication scheme is given out and the experimental results demonstrate the promising utility of the proposed method.
