摘要

A 5-step close-loop freeway mainline control framework is proposed based on the observation of traffic homogenizing effect before the onsets of congestion. The control variable is selected as entropy, indicating the dispersion of vehicle speeds across lanes, and a linear stochastic prediction model is given for imparting the predictive ability into the control system. Through smoothing the discrepancies among the speeds of vehicles on different lanes, the proposed control system is expected to improve the mobility and safety of the freeway system.
