Applicability of a reduced model to description of real contacts between rough surfaces with different Hirsch indices

We have studied the applicability of a reduced model to description of real contacts between rough surfaces with different Hirsch indices of fractal dimension. It is shown that this model quite well reproduces both analytical estimates and the results of a realistic but much more cumbersome numerical simulations.
