In this letter, we propose an improved anchor shot detection (ASD) method in at del to effectively retrieve anchor shots from news video The face location and dissimilarity of icon region are used to reduce false alarms in the proposed method According to the results of the experiment on several types of news video. the proposed method obtained high anchor detection results compared with previous methods
